Cloud infrastructure & distributed backend systems.

I work on the backend platforms that keep services running — decomposing monoliths into services, building event-driven pipelines, and moving compute-heavy workloads onto Kubernetes.

About

What I do

I've spent 13 years working on cloud infrastructure, containerized microservices, and the backend systems that connect them. Most of my work sits where reliability and complexity meet.

Day to day that means decomposing legacy monoliths into services that map to the business, designing asynchronous, event-driven pipelines for compute-heavy and AI inference workloads, and running them on Kubernetes. I focus on clean code, observable systems, and release processes that are predictable.

I lead a small engineering team — standups, sprint planning, peer review — while staying hands-on with the code and the infrastructure.

Where I've worked

2016 — Present

Lead Software Engineer

Qii.AI — Toronto, Canada
  • Lead a small engineering team while staying hands-on across backend, infrastructure, and compute workloads.
  • Drove the architectural modernization of a large multi-service codebase, simplifying how teams build and ship.
  • Broke a monolithic web API into smaller, business-aligned services, opening a stable path toward microservices.
  • Built asynchronous, event-driven processing pipelines with RabbitMQ and Celery for compute-heavy AI inference work.
  • Led the move from in-house bare-metal servers to a cloud-managed Kubernetes (AKS) environment.
  • Established peer review and delivery practices that improved release confidence and code quality.
2013 — 2016

Mobile Game Developer

Geniteam — Lahore, Pakistan
  • Built and optimized cross-platform mobile games in Unity3D and C#, holding 60 FPS across a range of iOS and Android devices.
  • Used OpenGL and custom shaders to implement 2D/3D effects within tight memory and battery budgets.
  • Worked closely with designers and artists on mechanics, UI/UX, and asset pipelines across multiple shipped titles.
